The Sickening Story of Foreign Policy

Syria: on a daily basis, The Revolution’s Council is providing the mainstream media (MSM) with the numbers of women and children who allegedly were killed by Bashar Al Assad’s brutal regime. The MSM (BBC, Aljazeera, France 24 etc.) are reporting these figures to the world, as if they were facts, in a romantic and ‘professional’ way. I personally don’t know what is fact and what is not. However, what I can clearly see is that the MSM have chosen their horse and lost their independence and credibility.

This reminds me too much of what happened in Libya. At one point, the MSM were praising the bravery of Libyan revolutionaries who gave their lives to free their country from a brutal dictator. It’s only after that we realized that this was nothing more than a bloody civil war ignited and led on the ground by western countries to topple Kadhafi. ‘Western’ countries include the UAE and Qatar.
Now that Kadhafi is dead, the country is struggling in vain to get some order back. There are reports of rival militias fighting for control. Weapons are being smuggled into neighbor countries. There are also reports of ex-pro Kadhafi fighters being tortured in secret prisons around the country. Bringing back peace and order to the country and getting its institutions functioning correctly is obviously neither on western countries agenda nor of any interest to the MSM.

The sickening story of ‘foreign policy’ is just repeating itself. Today, the targets are Iran and Syria. Propaganda is working its way to emphasize on how diabolic and ruthless Bashar Al Assad is. The MSM are supported by Cyber-soldiers on social media to gain even wider public support.

I personally have no doubt that Bashar Al Assad or Kadhafi are/were autocratic rulers among other autocratic rulers in Africa and the Middle East. For each of these rulers, a day will come when the final curtain will be drawn. Nothing lasts forever. Changes in a country should come from the will of the people not from foreign intervention behind the mask of democracy. Foreigners who topple a dictator in a country have their own agendas usually expressed in Dollars. How to provide and guarantee a better life for locals after the dictator is gone is unfortunately not part of the world leaders’ concerns. Just ask Iraqis, they will tell you…
